CONSULTING SERVICES

Some workplace issues are especially complicated. In these cases, Mental Health Works offers individualized consultation services. We can provide neutral meeting places such as our offices, or we can come to your work site.

Our experience in the fields of mental health, mental illness, risk management, organizational effectiveness, and policy can help you to solve the complex issues your organization faces today.

We consult around issues such as developing

  • Effective return-to-work agreements where mental illness is a factor
  • New workplace processes where inter-personal conflict is an issue
  • Accommodation strategies for employees with mental health problems
  • Accommodation agreements that maintain productivity
  • Solutions to workplace morale issues related to mental health
  • Customized workshops to address specific needs

We interview each stakeholder separately to assess the situation thoroughly.

Each interview usually lasts 1 hour to 1.5 hours. Interviewees usually include Human Resources personnel, the manager and/or supervisor, the union representative, and co-workers.

Messages and Testimonials

"Best company-funded session I have ever attended."

We collaborate with the employee on a new workplace agreement.

We begin by getting the employee's perspective on their workplace situation. We then engage in a discussion about

  • What they need to maximize their productivity in the workplace
  • What they are willing to commit to at work
  • What processes should be put in place to address future issues.

We meet with the employee and management to review the document together.

In some cases we present information on mental health to all employees or to the immediate work group.

The most important part of the process happens after the consultation is finished.

The agreement document serves as the catalyst for future discussions about performance. It also helps both parties speak openly and honestly about the issues.

The consulting fee is $250 per hour, plus expenses.
