- NOTE: The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) became law in June 2005. The AODA covers the private sector as well as the public sector and introduces standards and timelines to eliminate and prevent barriers. While the AODA updates and will eventually replace the Ontarians with Disabilities Act (ODA), the ODA will remain in effect until new standards are finalized.
