CMHA’s Psychological Health and Safety Professional Certificate Training

The CMHA Psychological Health and Safety Professional Certificate Training is designed for people who are striving to improve psychological health and safety in their workplace and/or implementing the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety.

This comprehensive certification training program has been developed to support organizations of all sizes.

After your training, you will be able to:

• Gain the practical expertise to create or expand a tailored Psychological Health & Safety Management System within your organization
• Understand and communicate the steps required to create a Psychological Health & Safety Management System
• Have the necessary tools to implement the National Standard for Psychological Health & Safety, while being mindful of your organization’s constraints, competing demands, and current realities
• Present a business case to leaders and key stakeholders to improve psychological health and safety in your workplace

Details:

Expectations
The course includes approximately 21 hours of learning: a self-directed learning module (course pre-work) and in-class learning (virtual or in-person) led by an expert facilitator/trainer.

Duration

• Virtual | Four 3.5-hour sessions + approximately 7 hours of self-directed learning (course pre-work) that must be completed prior to the start of the virtual training

(Note: Virtual courses are hosted on Zoom. Participants must have access to a microphone, camera, and stable Internet connection)

• In-person | Two 7-hour sessions + approximately 7 hours of self-directed learning (course pre-work) that must be completed prior to the start of the in-person training

(Note: In-person sessions will be held at 180 Dundas Street West, 19^th Floor Boardroom, Toronto)

Training FAQ

Who should take this training?
This training is geared towards a variety of individuals who are tasked with addressing psychological health and safety in the workplace. For example, individuals who work in Human Resources, Occupational Health and Safety, Health and Wellness, Health and Safety, Disability Management or are external workplace consultants are encouraged to register.

Do I have to attend all days of this training?
In order to receive certification, and to fully benefit from the training, participants must complete all days of the training program and complete all self-directed course pre-work.

Is there a final exam?
There is no final exam at the end of the training.

How will participants stay connected?
Participants will be part of an exclusive CMHA Certified Psychological Health & Safety Community of Practice (CoP). Through the CoP, participants will receive new information about CMHA workplace initiatives, including events, tools and resources. You will receive more information about the CoP during the in-class training.
