Legal Line
Legal Line is a federal not-for-profit organization that provides free legal information to Canadians through its website, telephone and systems.

Alberta Resources

Legal Aid Alberta (LAA)
LAA provides a range of legal services to low-income Albertans in a number of areas of law including family, criminal, and civil.

Edmonton Community Legal Centre
The Edmonton Community Legal Centre is a not-for-profit organization that offers free legal information, advice and representation for people living with low income in the Edmonton area. They assist through information, advice, representation or referrals to appropriate agencies.

The Law Society of Alberta – Lawyer Referral Service
The Law Society of Alberta is an information referral service that assists people in finding a lawyer in the area of law which they require services. It is independent of Legal Aid Alberta, and does not financially subsidize its legal services.

British Columbia Resources

Legal Services Society (LSS)
LSS provides legal aid services in British Columbia. It gives priority to people with low incomes, but many of its services are available to all British Columbians. These include representation by a lawyer, legal advice, and legal information.

Community Legal Assistance Society (CLAS)
CLAS provides legal assistance to disadvantaged people throughout British Columbia. It specializes in the areas of poverty, disability, workers’ compensation, employment insurance, mental health, human rights and equality law.

Manitoba Resources

Legal Aid Manitoba
Legal Aid Manitoba provides free or affordable legal services to low-income adults and youth, and public interest groups.

New Brunswick Resources

New Brunswick Legal Aid Services Commission
The New Brunswick Legal Aid Services Commission provides legal assistance to eligible applicants in certain criminal and family law matters.

Nova Scotia Legal Aid offers many legal services to help adults and youth facing a range of legal issues, including criminal law, family law, and many areas of social justice. Although some services are based on financial need, others are available to all Nova Scotians.

Yukon Resources

Yukon Legal Services Society
Yukon Legal Services Society (YLSS) is Yukon’s legal aid service provider. It exists to ensure that low-income individuals living in the Yukon have access to justice by providing legal aid services and supports to other Yukon justice programs helping low-income individuals.
